Hi everyone,

I have a database with a form which may be "corrupt".

It works fine, but it's larger than one screen long, and when I scroll down the page, one of the checkboxes moves in position ever so slightly downwards. The checkbox works and you can click in it once to select and again to deselect.

However, this problem recurs every time you open the form and scroll down. I have tried doing a "Compact and Repair database" to see if this helps, but to no avail.

Is the form corrupt? If so, can I create brand new blank form and just copy and paste everything across to the new one? Will this copy the problem over?

Please advise.

Thank you so much for your assistance.

Kind Regards,
Jay/UK

Is the check box initially at the bottom of the page when you open the form? My guess is that in this situation, the Top property is being adjusted slightly to force the whole check box into the visible area. It doesn't sound like a corrupted form to me. It may be a slight bug in positioning, or it may be by design.

Or, it might be that the control size is taller than necessary. You can resize a check box by grabbing the "handles" on the selection rectangle and dragging them. Even if you do, the appearance of the check box doesn't change, so there's no point in it being taller than necessary. But if it is too tall, that might cause it to be pushed upward to fit on the page. The same goes for its attached label control.

Is it really a problem? It doesn't seem to be interfering with the functioning of the form, and if it moves "ever so slightly" it shouldn't be a significant distraction. Maybe you could reposition it upward slightly.

Hi Rick,

Yes, it is near the bottom of the form. There are a series of 20 check boxes, and just 1 has "slipped" (not right at the bottom). However, its accompanying label remains in position (hence the potential for confusion).

I am puzzled/concerned for 2 reasons:

1. this has only started happening about a month or so ago - before that my form was just fine.

2. although I can compensate for this "slipped" box, I still find it rather disconcerting BUT others colleagues have access to the database, and I am concerned she may be thrown by this problem or even tick/clear the wrong checkbox as a result.

I'll study the comments mentioned to see if i can fix it - I'll let you know if I succeed/fail. But if you can assist further, I would appreciate.

Regards,
Jay
