CAN ANYBODY HELP ??

Having just changed to NTL BROADBAND Iv'e since discovered Uploaded Photographs arrive at the destination (EBAY) highly corrupted.

Prior to using NTL Broadband, Not One of several hundred photographs, had even a hint of corruption

Taking advice from NTL I have: Removed my firewall,(Zonelabs) Formatted the HDD FOR A CLEAN INSTALL of Windows Millenium. (NO CHANGE) Then formatting the HDD several more times to clean install Windows XP, Windows 98, all of which produced NO CHANGE. The photographs still arrive corrupted.

NTL say it's nothing to do with the NTL network, in fact NTL went on to say they've never heard of such a fault

.
CORRUPTION DEFINITION:

Photographs arrive at the destination Bleached out, and disfigured.

PC DETAILS
Celeron 700
Windows 98 2nd Edition
128k RAM

Can anybody point me in the right direction to correct this upload fault.

Wow, you're a patient customer. The first time they told me to reformat and reload the operating system, I'd have cancelled my contract and been shopping for a new provider.

Having said that, this is a weird one. Have you tried uploading the pics to another location on the net? For example, most ISPs give you a few free megabytes of web space storage to do with as you please. Take a few minutes and make a simple web page with those pics, and see how they look. I've never had problems uploading to ebay, but who knows...

Also, feel free to post links here to the ebay pages that have your pics on them. Someone might recognize the cause of the problem.

Good luck....

This can also be affected by the way the files are saved, compression method, and the browser settings.

When you view the pictures locally, what are you using? What is the native pixel density of the file? Do you upload the same file to eBay? Download the same file from eBay and see if it is the same pixel density.

Ive had major problems uploading to our website since using NTL Broadband. Corruption on all types of files larger than around 20k. NTL said that their broadband doent support MS Frontpage because it uses scripts - thats utter b*****ks as far as im concerned. They refused to discuss it or give me the name of the "engineer" that said it. I told them that i'd also had corruption on email attachments - they said they hadnever heard of it - and that was it as far as they were concerned.
Using the NTL dialup - using the same PC no problems.
Oh yeah the guy said it may be to do with using dialup and broadband on the same computer...?

I'm getting the same problem. Here's an example and although it's a bit weird anyway, it should be obvious that everything below the big nasty line is messed. No-one else on my connection seems to have this problem. Sometimes it just cuts off and below the line is just black.

I think it might have something to do with it trying to turn it into a bitmap. I just emailed a jpeg to myself and it came back as a messed up bitmap. And if you'll look here I just uploaded the bad version of faces.jpg and although in properties it's still a jpeg, when I try to save it it's a bitmap. Strange..

Oh and it's not just pictures. It happens with .zip and .rar too.

Well I just upgraded to XP and now it works like a charm! Sorry :)
