Sonehow I corrupted some fonts or the settings in some system file.
When I try to add or remove a font I get the message that it is a corrupt font.
How do I repair this situation?

Try reinstalling your fonts from you Master Restore Disk...

spike232

Master Restore Disk(MRD)? It's the disk that comes with your computer..it should say something like "Restore disk" or "Master Disk" or something like that..

spike232

I dont'recall seeing one with the delivery.
It did come with a partitioned HD.
The partition has an image of the original HD as delivered, so I can wipe everything clean & start again, however that is a last resort.
I don't want to loose everything i've done to date.

You should be able to choose whether you want to restore or format and restore. Choose restore.
