Hey all,

I have a user running Outlook 2003 accessing a Microsoft Exchange 2000 mailbox. The user reports that their Deleted Items folder does not allow him to view the contents within, but deleted items still flow to it normally. Apparently, for whatever reason, this user needs to view the items inside the Deleted Items bin.

I tried accessing the user's mailbox from my workstation and recieved the same problem. Anytime I click on Deleted Items, Outlook says "Unable to display items" or something to that effect.

Any ideas?

What is the exact error message ?

What are the permissions on the deleted items ?

Sounds like corruption to me if you get the same problem on your workstation. You could try another view, or OWA.

But, if it's corrupted, I would use exmerge to archive that folder to a .pst file, then look in their. Exmerge should drop the corrupted message.

How to configure an account to use the ExMerge utility in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange Server 2003

Thanks Sniper. I'm going to give that a try next week while the guy is on vacation.
