Yesterday, I wasn't in the building and something happened to my database.
Access gives a dr Watson error. and make all the contactpersons corrupt. So, I try to open the back-end file.
Access asked for repairing the file. After repairing and replacing a copy of the front-end database all is working OK again.
But, I'm a little scared about future problems. Somebody know how to prevent the dbase for this and how to repair automatically when it happens again?
Thnx in advance,
Gerard

Suggest you initiate a regular backup schedule, if you haven't already done so!

VBA doesn't have much secrets, but........
I'm not tough in implementating applications.
so, please can you explain what u mean?

Thnx in advance
Gerard

Sorry - I meant that rather than look at prevention (though that might be useful in itself if possible) and automatic repair (always fraught with uncertainty), I'd prefer, initially at least, to make sure that the database is backed up to reliable media (whether this be tape, CD or another area on your PC or server) on a daily basis so that if the worst comes to the worst, you at least have a copy available which won't be more than 24 hours out of date. Depending on the number of transactions involved, this will hopefully be sufficient. Hope this helps.

thnx for youre quick reaction
making a backup is clear to me (this becomes automatically in the network from the office to a tape)
but automatically repair the database is very interesting, how should I do?
