Corrupt xml document in .docx file

Hello, I have here a precious .docx file from a friend of my. This is the only copy she has and she urgently need it. I tried to help her but I am no xml wiz and therefore unable to do anything.

Please allow me to say this before I state the problem, this is the only copy of the document she has. There are no other copies. If she cannot open this file, she is going to lose everything inside.

When she tried to open this document of hers in Office 2007, which she saved normally just like anybody would. She receive the following error. I tried to open it on my computer, which is running Vista Home and Office 2007 professional, I had the same error.

The Office Open XML file Acid and Base Notes.docx cannot be opened because their are problems with its contents.

Which says that I need to rename the docx file to zip file and open up document.xml to fix the error, which the author of the page says is a missing bracket.

Problem is.. I have no xml knowledge what so ever. I tried a couple of xml editors and have no idea what I am looking for.

I am wondering if someone here could fix file for me or provide a solution? I would be greatly appreciated.

You would be better off asking ms office forum where there are experts on clinical operation on office documents.
