attempted to install extra RAM.reinstalled win95ok. cannont reinstall ie5? url.dll corrupt. have removed url.dll via c prompt but its still recognized by windows.

desperate

Maybe it is not sufficient to remove the file
from a c: prompt. Try starting the machine in DOS-mode
and delete the file from there.

Thanks for the offers of assistance. By attempting to remove the file at the c prompt, my computer became unuseable on the net!!! Finally contacted microsoft and they admitted that many people have been having trouble downloading ie5 from the net. The problem is as stated in Once you update ie3 you cannot reinstall win 95 url.dll. ms was good enough to fix my problem at no charge even though they no longer support win95 when I pointed out that I had paid for the programme and their free update had screwed a future reinstall. BEWARE!!!
