Corrupt PST file - no errors found with Scanpst.exe

The problem is that on one of our clients outlook freezes when adding a certain pst file to the profile. On another client it creates the same problem, other pst files work fine. I ran Scanpst on the file but to no avail, as soon as I tried to add it, outlook was hanging again.

Question is: does anybody know what else can be done to obtain a quick result? If not I'll just restore his latest working PST file, but I was just curious...

How big is the pst file?

The file is about 600 megs. I know this is not really acceptable but it is below the 2Gig boundary.

I have a similar problem. A user pst file is 1,75 GB in size is now unable to open it or to read any emails in the folder.
i have tried to add it to my profile but Outlook just hangs.
we need to get some of those emails in the pst file like in yesterday
Any advice?
