I have a remote office in Chicago. An on-site tech gave me an unused TN which actually has a corrupt M2317 on it. I remember this happening in the past but don't recall what causes this (I think it was moving M2317s to M2616 ports). In either case, they're on rls. 25.40. I can't out this TN as it's in the process of moving. What are my choices for retrieving (for lack of a better word) this TN to make it usable? thank you.

Are vendor’s answer to all problems is “INI the switch” it least seems that way.
I had the same problem long time ago but I just can’t remember what I did.

Try enabling the TN (enlu x x x x) that the 2317 is on. Some times if you plug a set into an unequiped port this 2317 will show up with nothing on it and you can not out it.

By just enabling the port - most of the time it will just disappear

thank you Stonecold. I will ask my tech to INI the PBX next time he is there. I am glad to be back in your good graces and you are still helping me with my posts.

One advise to you Tcomanalyst INI is the lost thing that you want do to Switch every time you do that some thing do not come up right so before you do that try enlu also try disu also try ld 30 untt then tn this will disable phone if it dos not see it than try to out that tn.

That is my two cents.

thank you. Your two cents is worth a million dollars to me.

NO NO NO Thank you !

Now I do know why that CEO calls you every 5 min you are just too sweet.

thank you stonecold and reusser. even though the port already showed disabled i DISU'd it anyway and reenabled it and now it's unequipped! worked like a charm. Thank you both again.

If the set is in the process of moving, try to print out your ASR (auto set relocation) in LD 21, to see if this TN just got stuck.

On a side note, I wholeheartedly agree w/ SCPM re using a sysload to cure things is very weak troubleshooting skills.
