Corrupt Headers in Exchange 5.5

I am Backing up my Exchange 5.5 server using Backup Exec 8.6 and am getting verify errors on about 50% of my mailbox items saying they are corrupt files. Obviously I am having problems getting backups, but some of the files wont open, and probably wont restore. Anyone have any ideas?, any tools to fix corrupt message headers?.

I have run a full Groupshield Virus check on the mailboxes and they are clear.
