I have numerous corrupt files on a NSS Volume (NetWare 6.0 SP5, NSS Version 3.05 (Build 670)). These files are causing errors on backups and cannot be deleted or renamed by any of the following methods.

Windows Explorer
Portal
Netbasic
JCMD
DOS
CPQFM
NetWare Explorer
Console 1
Filer

I have run a nss /poolverify which reports no obvious errors.

The files have invalid names e.g bel107*zip.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to delete these corrupt files.

Did you only recently apply Service Pack 5? Was it an attempt to fix the probelms? What did you have before SP5?

There was a problem with SP3 that caused corrupt files like you mention. the fix is to apply NSS patch (or Later service pack), and then run COMPFIX. This fixes most of the problems. I believe that COMPFIX is included in the service pack, so you should already have it on your system.

also turn off oplocks and file caching

set client file caching enabled=off
set level 2 oplocks enabled=off
