Corrupt file system when moving LUN to new host

Can't track down the common theme that is causing jfs and jfs2 filesystems to corrupt when moving DS4300 LUNS between AIX hosts. Not always the same file system on each attempt. Steps I'm doing are as follows:

AIX 5.2 on p520 and p550q both directly attached to DS4300 with storage partitioning

1. mksys dvd restore of p520 host to new p550q host
2. unmount SAN filesystems from p520
3. varyoffvg p520 volume groups
4. exportvg p520 volume groups
5. change mapping of LUNS to p550q through storage manager software
6. run cfgmgr on p550q
7. importvg on p550q

Many file systems mount up fine. Some mount commands give the following errors:
--mount: 0506-324 Cannot mount /dev/dblv on /db: A system --call received a parameter that is not valid.

Running fsck yields:
--Not a recognized filesystem type. (TERMINATED)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

p.s. Using this method due to lack of space on the SAN
