Hi,

I have a user who'se DB has gone corrupt. Simple enough, just compact it and everything will be fine.

However, I am unable, for whatever reason to do so. When logged in as the administrator I am getting this message at the bottom when I try to compact it:

Server error: You are not authorized to use the remote console on this server.

I'm sure my admin ID got screwed up somehow but I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated ASAP.

Thanks
Tom

The simple thing would be to down the server and bring it back up again. Notes does an auto check of all dbs and consistency checks the ones that need it.
However, that implies that you CAN actually down the server during the workday.
As for your ID issue, if you are not the Notes admin I would suggest asking him why.

Pascal.

To use the remote console, a user must be listed in the Administrators field of the Server document.

There are actually two different fields labeled "Administrators" in the Server document. The first field is contained under the Basics portion of the document. This is the actual field designating which users can administer various functions of the server, including the remote console. The second Administrators field is located in the section labeled Administration at the bottom of the Server document. This field is strictly an Author's name field, this field has no effect on who can use the Administration Console.

The field used to specify the administrators of the server is named Administrator, while the Author's Name field is called LocalAdmin.

Thanks for the tips guys. I was listed as an Administrator but for whatever reason it was not letting me use the remote console anymore. I ended up just removing my id, restarting the notes server, adding my name, restarting the notes server and all is well.
