Nov 8, 2005 #1 Rickinrsm Technical User Nov 3, 2004 130 US It prints fine in screen mode. Sorry. But what about saving the directories? Rick
Nov 8, 2005 #2 TonyMcGuire Programmer Aug 17, 2004 692 US What do you mean by 'saving the directories'? Just that it starts in the same :WORK: and RIV: directories? Easiest way to start that off is by setting it up in the icon that starts Paradox. At the end of the executable line, add -w c:\workdir\path -p c:\pdox\priv First one for workingdir and second for privatedir You can also go into preferences and select Save on Exit and Restore on Startup once you have the above set and are using. If this wasn't your question, please explain in detail. Tony McGuire http://www.thedbcommunity.com"It's not about having enough time. It's about priorities. Upvote 0 Downvote

Nov 8, 2005 #5 TonyMcGuire Programmer Aug 17, 2004 692 US Do those directories exist? Well, check for .net and pdx_*.lck files. Delete them. Restart Paradox. Are you on a network? If so, make sure the netdir setting in the BDE is EXACTLY the same on EVERY machine. Character for Character the same. The ONLY exception is the drive letter. Otherwise, EVERY character must match on EVERY system. Tony McGuire http://www.thedbcommunity.com"It's not about having enough time. It's about priorities. Upvote 0 Downvote

Nov 8, 2005 Thread starter #6 Rickinrsm Technical User Nov 3, 2004 130 US Hi Tony - no I'm not on a network. Just my standalone computer at home. Version 7 and my directories that I use are on drive D. Version 8 is on Drive C. I did find a Pdxusers.net file which I deleted. Rebooted the computer. Still get the dreaded BDE error on both version 7 & 8? I reinstalled Version 8. Still get the BDE error. I've been working on this since yesterday and I'm just about ready to through the computer out the window. Ha! Rick Upvote 0 Downvote

Nov 8, 2005 Thread starter #7 Rickinrsm Technical User Nov 3, 2004 130 US Tony . . . how do I do this? 4. On every machine check the BDE configuration (if each machine has its own) to ensure that all point to the same Net Directory. Is this in an .INI file? Rick Upvote 0 Downvote

Nov 8, 2005 #11 TonyMcGuire Programmer Aug 17, 2004 692 US What operating system? Did you install as Administrator? Did you also delete the pdx*.lck files? Sounds like you might have Registry issues. Rights issues. Other (?) issues. I'm probably not the best person to ask about a bunch of nitty gritty stuff outside Paradox, even though Paradox is the target.
