Hi,
I am about to install a new firewall for a client of mine but am just a-little unsure as to how the firewall fits in with the existing router.
The client currently has internet/email access from their LAN via a router but, at the moment, no firewall protection. The router has an IP address of 192.168.1.1 but I seem to remember that the default IP address for the new firewall I propose to install is the same. My question is, do I leave the firewall with the same IP address as the router or does the firewall get a different IP address? If it is a different IP address, does this then become the new gateway IP address for the network?
I hope that makes sense!
Many thanks.
