Hi,
Our network has 7.5 installed on server, with all clients having software installed (either 7.5 or 7.6 for XP clients).
Our IT supplier say the software they recently installed is running much slower than it should, and wonder if our AV software is causing it as it accesses each file to check it before it opens. They suggest we should remove realtime protection from files and rely on scheduled scans instead. OR we could exclude the directory used by the program/data files from the protection - see if that helps.
They also suggest we look at other possible causes of the slowdown such as "bottlenecks" on the server, network cables or the network cards inside machines.
The software is Opera 1 accounting software, which is installed on the main network drive and all clients access this directory to run the program and work on the data.
Do you have any thoughts on this?
Regards,
Jay/UK
