I have Corp Dir working fine with CPND names data for all internal extensions.
I always get asked how do we add external numbers to this list. This question is a can of worms ive found.
I found 2 methods, either i can edit the .csv file manually or use the include DN's option. With updating the csv file manually, this is overwriten ever time the Corp Dir is generated from CPND names database. Not good. Plus customers dont like updating this manually.
Ive come across the LDAP to CND sync option in TM3.0/1, ive managed to sync this with the server so that my CND database is populated with info from Active Directory.
Problem with this is in TM3 i have to go into each individual phoneset and search the directoy and then assign a employee one by one. Secondly the Corporate Directory only create the csv file from CPND names not from the CND database, which means i only have names for internal extensions, no external.
Personally i can't see the point of the LDAP sync as it you still have to manually search in the directory and then assign employees to phonesets. It just saves the time of typing First Name, Last Name & Department. But takes an age to set-up.
