Corporate Config causing slow Office Apps

When I configure Outlook 2000 with Corporate Email, Office apps like Excel, Word, etc, take considerably longer to open. It also seemed to slow down the operation of some other apps (proprietary) that have nothing to do with Exchange, Office or Outlook. Running NAV on the workstations, but I don't think it's a problem, because switching back to Internet Only option clears the problem up instantly.Windows 2000 or Windows 98 OS.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
