I am using CorelDraw v8 but, as I am moving from Windows 98 to Windows XP Home edition, I am considering upgrading to v12. Will the upgrade accept v8 as a valid starting version - one web site I visited suggested the upgrade only worked with v11.

To the best of my knowledge you are entitled to upgrade from V8 BUT you may need to ring Corel Customer Services for a recognisable number

If you are upgrading from 98 to XP you better get a better box or put in ALOT more RAM.
Not sure on upgrading from 8 to 11. You know that version 12 is now available.

Thanks for the replies - I am getting a new computer with a processor speed 5/6 times greater than the present computer, lots of RAM and disk space and greatly improved graphics. Pity the upgrade is so expensive!

I think you'll decide it's worth it. V8 was not particularly stable. V12 includes lots of new features and so far I've found no serious problems.

Good luck with your expensive upgrade!
