After stripping my harddrive & reinstalling all my programs I can view but not manipulate Type 1 fonts in CorelDraw 8. I have re-copyed the files from the old harddrive, re-copyed them from the corel disk, installed ATM, etc. I can see the fonts when searching thru windows but not when I try to add them in the font navigator or ATM. I can see them listed in CorelDraw, can select & use them for new text. But the only way to select existing text in those fonts is by dragging a box around it & then the highlighted area is just a small box in the corner not the entire text and they can't be edited.

trishtoed,

you said you stripped your HD and reinstalled programs.. did you wipe the drive and do a clean install of the OS? If not, that may be the cause. I know this is a pain in the @$$ but maybe you need to do a format of the drive and a clean install of the OS. Then reinstall the apps.

You said you are using ATM.. what OS? If you are using ATM lite and W2K or XP, then that is another cause. Both those OS's have their own font manager, and installing ATM will cause all sorts of problems. Again, the fix is to wipe the HD.. unless you are competent enough to fudge with the registry.

If you are using NT or 98, then go for ATM Deluxe ($69 from Adobe) and use it to manage all fonts.. make sure you have no more than 150 active fonts at any time. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
