G'day,

I am currently using Corel Photo Paint v10.415 and I am having some issues trying to create either JPG or BMP images. Sometimes it will export and other times it will not.

My current graphic/file has a greadient fill background, two text objects and a picture object. If I choose export-->export from the file menu, i have only the option of exporting to a Corel PhotoPaint *.cpt, TIFF *.tif, Corel PhotoPaint 7/8 *cpt or Adobe Photoshop format.

I have tried merging all of the objects with the background, but the problem persists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, cmlakey.

It sounds like you didn't install all of your "filters" when you installed Corel. If you insert your original instal disks, there should be an option to repair, or reinstall (going from memory) and you should be able to re-install over top of your existing program. You should then be able to chose "File types" to install when you get to the options menu (it is in "tree view" where you click a little plus to fly out a "tree" and som options will be "enabled" while others will not.)

Another possibility, which is more of a work around, would be to copy (or drag) the image into Photopaint, then try exporting from there.

One final thing to check, if you are using XP, I have found that when copying images off line, sometimes it only gives me the option of saving as a *.bmp file, even though the properties clearly state it is *.jpg or *.gif. I have found that you have to delete your temporary internet files, and sometimes the cached files. Granted this is a bit of a stretch, but you might check into it. THere is a knowledge based article on Microsoft's site about this phenomenon.

HTH, Russell
