Corel Paint 12 brush problem

Is anyone else having this problem? Paint worked fine for a few weeks after I first installed it, then suddenly all the Brush functions stopped working. I can select the tool, my cursor changes appropriately, but nothing happens when I try to paint. The clone tool is also effected. Everything else, including Mask Brush, works as normal.

In case it was my PC at work acting up, I toook the disks home and loaded it. It worked fine for a time, then yesterday the brush dies on me at home too.

I've tried everything I can think of, including uninstalling, wiping and reinstalling.

sounds like you corrupted your profile. Hold down the F8 key while launching the app till it asks if you want to reset to factory defaults and then reset it.

Yep, that's what Corel recommended. It worked, and after I worked with the program for a little while, the same problem came back!

I can't imagine why it would occur on another computer after several months.

I tried installing this disk on another PC at work and the problem didn't occure. I tried installing another copy of the program on MY computer at work and the problem DID occur. That certainly lead me to believe it was my profile, but them why would it happen at home, and why would it recurr here? I'd hate to have to keep resetting defaults and then resetting my prefs constantly!

perhaps you tried to do some sort of configuration on each system in an identical manner that it didn't like?
