When I try to dial up my ISP, Linux says "Initializing modem" and just sits and does nothing. I know that Linux has detected modem as I checked under "Devices and it set up on "TTY0" Any help for a recent emigrant from the Evil Empire (MS) Thanks.

I'll answer your question eventually, but I can tell you this much: the problem has to do with the underlying dialer that you don't see called <i>pppd</i>. This thing always seems to die. I recently got rid of Corel Linux an installed TurboLinux on to my machine (but I want to change it to Debian again sometime, which is what Corel is based on). Being that you are a newbie, I suggest <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> <p>REH<br><a href=mailto:hawkdogg@crosswinds.net>hawkdogg@crosswinds.net</a><br><a href= by Linux</a><br>Learn Linux and Leave out the Windows :)
