Just upgraded to Corel Draw X3. On the previous version, the only way to select an object with "no fill" was to click the object's border. On this version, if you select any where within the object (or within an area of a curve) the object is selected, even if there is an object within that I'm trying to select. Is there a setting that can be changed or a way to work around so that only the object desired is selected. Kind of frustrating. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure exactly what you are expressing, but if what you are referring to is that you have multiple objects that overlap each other, regardless whether they are filled or not,

You can select through the z-order of overlapped objects by holding down the ALT key on the keyboard and then left clicking above the overlapped objects. As you repeatedly left click you'll cycle through the overlapped objects.

You could also open the object manager ( Window->Dockers->Object Manager) and select your object there.

I think you may be referring to the 'Treat as filled' option, ensure nothing is selected and look for on top property bar.

brushman is dead on
if you would like to keep
this from happining any more
go to tools-options then down
to tolbox select pick tool &
uncheck the treat all objects
as filled. also under general
i reduce the undo levels from
99 to about 10 and bitmap to 2
just storing way to much info,
who really need to go back 100
steps. when done hit ok.
after it exits go back to tools
and select save settings as defaults.
this should take care of it
