Does anyone know if it is possible to make a symbol from a text box in a Corel Draw 11 drawing? I'm putting lots of little boxes "H3" and so forth and I'd like to save this as a symbol and use it again and again with other drawings. And I do know that the symbols are drawing-centric. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

This is a Microsoft Access forum and whilst there maybe someone here who can help you out, you'll have more luck in a Corel specific forum.

forum238 might be a good starting point for you.

If I understand you correctly, you want to create a small box in CorelDraw, put the text "H3" in it and then use this in Access. Don't think there's a direct way, but you could export the .cdr image to a .jpg bitmap, then put it in a table and look it up as underlying data for a bound object frame. Not surprisingly, Access doesn't much like .cdr files directly

Access makes all things possible. It even makes them intelligible

Thanks for all you help, but I did post this in the wrong place. I was trying to create symbols in Corel Draw that I could use over and over and at the same time wrestling with a database problem and I mixed up my forums. I did solve the Corel problem, though. Corel will allow you to enter text without drawing a box each time and it makes entering those little labels a breeze. Thanks again.
