HI I am somewhat new to Corel draw, but I don't understand 1/2 dots. We do have an Epson 4600 that does post script.

Example: We would like to be able to take a word like HALF and do a fad where the word fads in from bottom up using 1/2 dots.

Can anyone help us?

Thanks
Robert

If you're asking how to produce a vignette/fade in Coreldraw. It is the fill tool/paint can icon (usually second from bottom of the tools on the left hand side of the screen) - clicking it will give you a fly out window. Select Fountain fill.

Or press F11 shortcut key.

Now you can create fades/fountain fills/vignettes.

As far as your printer is concerned:
Should be down to the dpi that your epson 4600 printer driver can handle and how well your printer reproduces the dots.

When you print a job (ctrl-p) there should be settings 300/600/1200 dpi. Try to change those and check the result. I have not used a laser printer to reproduce dots specifically for half tone screens before but
using an inkjet printer gave some very good results where each dot was crisply reproduced.
