I've had Corel Draw 9 for a while now, but all of a sudden it won't open or import any files. When I click on open or import it does nothing. I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to fix this. Thank you.
Thats a pretty wierd thing to happen.. is there anything else thats happened on this computer around the same time you encountered this problem? Ie Virus, Hardware failure, unistalled software etc..
Generally corel has filters/exporters that are located in your coreldraw folder under filters. If they get deleted (there is files for each type of export/file saves format) then you might loose the ability to export.
If the window isn't drawing at all check to see if other windows are opening and closing properly.
The only generic advice that can be given is to unistall corel and re-install it. Maybe a component got damaged during a dirty shut down and now its malfunctioning.. So re-installing it will replace the files that have been damaged.
If you have more info about the PC and the situation/history of it it might help..
Before you uninstall and reinstall try starting Draw with F8 pressed and accept default workspace when prompted. The workspace gets corrupted sometimes, this will reset it. Workspace problems were apparent in V10 and V11 so maybe V9 will be corrected this way.

I had the same problem in 11 - however, I could still open files. I never did find a solution. I instaleld the trial version of 12, hoping maybe that would somehow help, but unlike other Corel Versions, t12 keeps to itself too well. So the import worked on 12, but would still crash on 11. I never did resolve the issue. By solution was going to be format and reinstall everything, but we purchased 12 before I had to go that route.
