I called corel and asked about corel 7. I am now a user of corel 5. I export drawings to a milling using hpgl (plt) files. The girl at corel advised me to go ahead and buy 7 it could do the same thing.. After I installed 7 there is no plt file extension avail in the export function... any help here....????? Do I have to buy another version...?? My corel 5 master disk has been destroyed is why I have this dilema....

I think you can choose which import and export filters are loaded on install, might want to re install and look closer at the options.

I did a reinstall and checked all the available and hpgl wasnt avail on this version as I saw.. I will call corel tomorrow and see what they say... thanks for the reply

I have it listed in my old version of V7 so it does exist - good luck.

Ok. It might be the because I ordered it from one of these cut rate houses. It is called Corel Draw Select Edition... I'll call corel today and ask again... I just did what they told me to do because they don't sell old versions anymore...
Thanks for the input people....

I believe the "select edition" may have been a limited version of the application - i.e., one that did not include the full range of import/export filters, etc.

I think javabear is right Select version was cut down slightly - look on the Unleash site, there may be some good deals there. For the record I think only the full graphics suite will have everything, fonts/clipart etc not sure about the accademic versions though.

I think ya'll were right... I went to a download site and got corel12 suite downloaded and it had what I wanted.... Thanks for all the responses....

You won't be dissapointed V12 is head and shoulders better than V7, you will need a computer with a bit of power to run it properly though. Steep learning curve if not experienced but loads of productive stuff there depending on your work.
