eh, sorry, the post got broken, and there is no edit button, here it goes again:
I have the same problem with corel 12 as well as corel 13 - sometimes when I start corel draw or corel photo-paint the GUI is corrupted. I've made 2 screenshots to show the problem:
If I restart the computer and start photopaint or corel draw immediately after the restart usually everything is displayed as it should. But after some hours the problem recurs.
and it shows that when Corel products are started they search for a non-existent file called CrlRib.dll which is supposed to be located in %systemroot%\system32\ directory. Problem is I have no such file, my registry lists no such file and I can't find any info about such file on google. Also, Corel reports an "Attributes: Error" internally (also visible in FileMon). It seems to be a VBA error, when a property is started that is already in memory. So maybe this is a COM problem or a VBA problem?
If somebody can offer a solution, please post. Also, does someone happen to know where the official corel community is located? I'd like to post about my problem somewhere where corel programmers might read my post. 'Cause the problem is so technical that only they might know the answer.
P.S. I've deleted the workspace, doesn't help. Since the problem occurs both with corel 12 and 13 it seems to be an internal bug, not something caused by the user
I do believe you are on the correct path of it being an internal problem. Out of curriosity, was this upgraded from an earlier version, or was version 12 the first install?
As for links - should be under the Help tab - "Corel on the web". But as I see you are using the German version, it may not be there.
thanx for the reply, but I've already managed to solve the problem. The problem was insufficient amount of physical memory (I have only 256 mb). After setting certain WinXP services to "manual" through the services SnapIn I managed to free some memory and now all corel products behave normally.
