Some days you'd do better to stay in bed.

Having lost the use of my WP8 address book on my main computer and having lost "Frequent Contacts" with five hundred or so addresses (my client list, I am afraid) in the folder transported to a second computer, I am now trying to import the addresses into CC on Corel 10.

With the following result:
Your address book frequent contacts will not be opened (thre is already a frequent contacts address book, empty, in CC10, so it could be either) as you have either cancelled your login or you have submitted an incorrect password.

I don't have a login to cancel, and I didn't submit a password. I am the admin here, and everyone else, for that matter. The password for windows login has always been the same.

There has to be an answer to this.

I believe, however, that I couldn't import directly from WP address book, anyway, but would have to export. Am I right?

It looks as if all is not lost, and I backed them up to transfer them to Palm (I congratulate me) about a month ago, but really, I am beginning to think that "THEY" don't want me in business.

Any clue at all appreciated.

Clueless in San Francisco, dealing with a desktop appropriately named HAL.

Try going into CC Admin via Start, Programs, WordPerfet Office 2002, Utilities, CorelCentral Admin.

Yes, the address book can import and export data.

I don't use CC myself. I have it at work but at home I don't. I use other databases for my contacts.

Thanks. I will try it.
But here's a thought: In trying to resuscitate the 8 address book, I inserted the wrong Mapi file and got the report: The procedure entry point WnetEnumCachedPaswswords could not be located in the dynamic link library MPR.dll.

I can't access frequent contacts and address folders in 8 on an alternate machine. I can't find the files I saw first on 10. I can't get 8 to open. The more I ponder the more it seems that MPR.dll and a corrupted login identity or password (passwords ror Corel???) may be involved. Any thoughts out there.

Would MPR be like Microsoft password registry, I wonder?

Solution found, but beats me if I know what it was.
Just in case someome finds this on a search, this worked:
Uninstalled all of Corel via CD, Office 8 as well as 10. Hand ripped all corel files (the database for address book saved elsewhere, however). Checked for any odapi files, removed those I found. Finally used (with some misgiving) a registry correction utility and let it have it's way with the 300 or so registry entries it found to be incorrect.

In checking the registry before running it, I found that there were very many Corel keys and entries left behind, which very could be what was preventing the programs from opening. Hopes this helps someone.
