Have anyone experienced troubles with tape-backups after installing Core OS Supplements?
I have both OSS497b and OSS497c installed. Is that good? Shouldn't the newer overwrite the older during install?

BTW, what happened to the old Caldera have turned it into a disaster. I can't find anything on that homepage anymore. Anyone know where I can find information on the different patches for SCO Openserver 5.0.5.

This is the errormessage that appears in syslog every time the backup fails.

NOTICE: cha: SCSI command timed out ha=1 id=2 lun=0 cmd=0A blk=0 len=2048
A SCSI peripheral failed to report completion status in time (chaN05) /Sören

Documentation calls for 5.0.5a to be installed prior to 497x. 497c should overwrite with no problems according to the specs.
The 3 systems I support have no problems with tape, but I pulled the basic one out to start then reloaded it to get all the links, and mine are all small host systems.
I did hardcopy of the supplement documentation from Don't know if it is still active. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

It's not active anymore. End up at :-(

I have installed 5.0.5A prior to the other patches. I believe I read that in a readme somewhere.
I'll have a look around. Perhaps I was as smart as you and made a copy before everything went up-side-down at /Sören
