Simple question, does anyone know how to enable core dumps on HP-UX 11.0. Quite simple I'm sure but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks
Scott.

I assume you want to enable OS crash dumps , because program will core dump by default if it encounters an execution error.

/etc/rc.config.d/crashconf
Configures crash dumps at boot time
/etc/rc.config.d/savecrash
Saves crash dumps ( specify the level you want to save crash dump)

are you talking about system crashdumps or binary coredumps?.

By default hpux will perform a savecrash on reboot and try to save the data to /var/adm/crash.

With regards to core files just use find to search for any. Use "file core" which will tell you what program produced this core.

I hope this helps
