the chairman of the board is looking for a cordless M3904, and i understand no such item exists. any suggestions? he has two M3904 sets and wants to replace one of them with something as similar as possible but with no handset cord. Thank you for your help.

why didn't i think of that? are there any reliable ones out there that you can recommend?

Spectral Link makes a really good wireless sytem that acts like a 2616. But that might be a lttle more then you want spend.

GN Netcom make a complete Wireless Headset system and it works great on 3904's. The user can answer the phone away from their desk. It works off of a 2.4GHZ range. You can go to gnnetcom.com to find out all the information.

When are the handset and headset manufacturers going to sit down together and develop a system that doesnot need handpiece lifters. I feel that is such a 'heath robinson' solution that I will not use them.

who is Heath Robinson??
What about a cordless M2616? I just found that on line but my one question is, how come Nortel didn't make a cordless M3904? is it because the cordless M2616s didn't sell or work well?

You got it the cordless 2616 was not a big hit. Go with the headset

"Heath Robinson" is an English term for something that has been made up from whatever is available. Therfore it may not be the best solution but will work. Its the sort of thing you will knock together in your garage when you dont have the correct tool to reach that last nut in the car engine...
