Can anyone recommend a cordless headset for the Mitel 5550 IP Console?

talking about Plantronics headsets says:

"Wireless base works with any of the above headsets
Compatible with: Mitel 5215, 5220, 5230, 5240 IP Phones, Mitel 5550 IP Console, Mitel Superset 4015, 4025, 4150 phones, Superconsole® 1000 and Superconsole 2000"

the Plantronics compatibility guide lists approx 18 when you select the 5550 Console and wireless

I'm interested in whether any of them require a lifter (I'm thinking not as from memory, you take the Console on/off hook from the keypad rather than from a hook switch)?

thanks for any feedback (definite confirmed working would be great), doesn't have to be Plantronics

The problem you have with a cordless headset on the 5550 Console is that there is no switchook. You can however answer calls from the PC keyboard so if you were desperate to be able to do this you could take an idea I had further. You would have to modify the lifter to make it actuate a switch and you would have to arrange for all calls to be presented on the one key. If that's possible, you could then use one of these......

It would be nice to see mitel give us a "answer" key which worked on ringing line preference so the solution would be even more useable but the problem would still be knowing what to say to the caller as you wouldn't know whether it was a new call (either internal or external) or a recalling call.
