We have a Tadiran Coral IPx500 system and have been capturing caller id phone numbers with a modem on an analog line.
This is too slow and the telco does not provide the information every time. We have our own resident and business database for name and address look-up, so we only need to capture the calling phone number for one incoming line.
Is there a way to capture the incoming caller number from the IPx500 system, from the PRI D-channel, or from the digital phone line.

Use SMDR to record incoming calls. This will show the incoming CLI (if its presented) in the output string.

In its basic form just use HyperTerminal (or equivalent) plugged into KB0 (or KB1, KB2 etc). Or on v14+ (from memory) and you have an LIU or MAP then you can do SMDR over IP.

thank you disturbedone:
I'll try your suggestions in a few days.

disturbedone,
We got our tech rep to try SMDR with DISPLAY_START_TIME set to yes to supposedly cause the report to happen as soon as the call comes in....

No good! The report still waits until the call terminates before doing output.

I'm back to the drawing board.
Thanks for your thoughts
