Is it possible to create a script that would copy text from a web viewer? What I am trying to do is fill in the missing zip code for certain records. In a record that has an address, city and state, once I click on a layout with the web viewer (connected to mapquest or google maps) the map shows the location with the full address including the zip code. I would then like a script to copy the zip code and paste it into the empty zip code field in the record. Is this possible? I am running on XP and have researched on the FM knowledge base but it did not say if the copy and paste could be automated or not, only that you could copy text from within the web viewer (which I assumed meant that you could manually copy and paste text). Any advice?

I suspect the answer here is no, though you might want to check with Filemaker to be completely sure. The web viewer places a window to the web on your layout, but I don't think there are any FMP scripts that will allow you to selectively isolate data within that window.

Perhaps if you're working within web pages that you've authored you might be able to work out some sort of javascript/ajax routine that can copy specific values to the clipboard.
