Hi and pre thank you,

It has been a long time since I made a copy of my sd card and for my end of year IT list I want to make a backup of my system sd card. Last time I did it I manually installed and then copied voice items to my pc and then to the new card, this took forever. So my question is? What is the easiest way (in detail plz) to make a dupe card or manually backup everything(or certain things)? I lost it all once and since I save configs I was semi ok but we lost all the voice and voicemail prompts. Thx again.

So I stopped being lazy and see I can just stick an sd-card in optional spot and click copy. Is it that simple?

If you are on site you can stop the SD card in Manager or SSA. Pop it out and put it in a PC. Copy it and put it back.

I was always nervous about putting an Avaya sd card in a pc for fear or ruining it. Does putting in optional spot in the 500v2 and hitting copy actually create a true dup for the system card?

I have never used the optional slot. The only way you can trash the SD by putting it in a PC is if you format it. I always do upgrades and such in a PC versus doing it through Manager. You will never get a true 'duplicate' of the card. There is a watermark on it that validates the feature key.

So if I copy the card and say for example the current card goes bad. Do I just call my Avaya sales person with my new card info and have them move everything over to that card number?

If you have a second Avaya Feature SD card and PLDS licensing they could move the licenses and email you the PLDSkeys.xml. If you just have a standard SD card you would need an actual feature key card.

You can use the Embedded file Manager to copy off the Voicemail prompts and messages
Manager->File->Advanced->Embedded File Management...->SDCard->System->LVMail

Weird I used the copy card function and the copy looks the same but is about 20% larger in size
