I am rescuing file from a hard drive onto my C: drive. As I copy and paste folders, I often get messages that certain files are either missing or can't be copied - and then the copying stops. Can I copy a folder(s) with an option that says to ignore any missing files? When I do get this message, are the good files copied and the process only stops at the end to tell me something is missing?

thanks.

I think the copy process is abandoned at the point of failure, files will have been copied successfully up to that failure point.

Have a look at the /c switch in Xcopy (Help and Support).

Did you try chkDsk on the bad drive?
