We are in the middle of implementing new hardware and software in my company, including an Oracle database application (Ver. 8.1.7). We have multiple schemaa, and a need to duplicate all of the information from one schema to another. i.e. We want to copy our Test schema to our Staging schema, preserving all of the settings and table information from Test. What I am wondering, is Import and Export the fastest, easiest way to accomplish this? Both myself and one other guy are very new to Oracle, and are really struggling to come up to speed on how toadminister this database, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

At the very least you should start with export/import. There are a few things it doesn't handle too well, such as database links. I would expect export/import to do at least 95% of the work of migrating, with maybe a little scripting on your part to fix isolated problems.
