I want to copy a cube from one server to another using the analysis manager? Kindly help.

In analysis manager, when i right click on a cube and choose copy, and then right click on a database in another server and click paste. it gives the following error

"Cannot paste cube xyz into database abc because supporting dimension dim1 already exists"

I think one of the dimensions in the cube you are pasting may be shared with other cubes. If you have a dimension with the same name and share status this may prevent you from pasting.

Yeah, i figured that out. But then How do we resolve this situation?

Thanks

You will have to drop and re-create the dimension in the original cube. If you are using the dimension wizard there is a checkbox on the last screen that you can turn off to prevent sharing the dimension.

Thanks,

Can we generate scripts by which we can create the same cube in another server.

Ok Let me put it this way:
I have one cube say ABC.
Now how can I deploy this cube to my clients machine who is at a remote place

The simplest solution is to create a new database on the remote analysis server and copy the cube into that one instead of using the same database.
