I want to move databases on a local sql 2005 box to a sql 2005 box that is being hosted else where. If it matters, I don't care about moving the database users/logins to the new server. I only care about the tables, views, and stored procedures.

Is there a way to 'copy' the databases to the new server using the .bak and .tl files from the old server?

Sorry, if I'm leaving chunks of necessary info out, I don't know what I'm doing in this department.

You can backup the databases to flat files, move the flat files to the new server, and restore them with few problems. You will need to create any logins that are on the first server on the new server, if they are needed. For existing logins, you will need to become familiar with sp_change_users_login. If you are running any encryption, you will need to do a few extra steps.

Thanks for the response.

After fiddling around some more, I found that I can recreate the databases using .bak files from the old server.
