I've inherited a Word document containing a photo. I'd like to use Photoshop or another photo editor to slim down the picture, which is now 1.8 MB big. But I can't seem to copy it from the Word doc. I select it and choose Copy from the menu, but the copy doesn't happen. My guess is that it's just too big for the clipboard to handle. Any ideas on a workaround?

Copying large picture from Word to Photoshop

Any idea what resolution the picture is? If it is only screen res (72dpi) then do a print screen of the picture and paste that into photoshop.
Photoshop does have problems sometimes pasting off the clipboard - have you checked if you can paste into paint?
