Hi I connect to a win 2000 Small Business server via a VPN and XP's remote desktop. Everything is fine the connection is good I can work on the server create files etc. What I want to do is copy files from my home XP Pro pc through the VPN and place them on the server. Can this be done? Is this why they have sharepoint portal server? Is there another product like sharepoint portal server that does not cost the earth?

Thank you in advance
Steve

you can copy files from the client to the server, but it might be usefull to either use WINS or a LMHOSTS file to help Netbios over TCP/IP.
Try to manually map a drive to \\server_ip\sharename, and if that works, then it will work

How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?
