copying files from win3.1 to cd-r

Can I take a hard drive which is running win3.1,install it as a slave in a win98 machine and copy files from the slave to a cd-r? Thank You

I Have some problem with Windows Me some programms run in DOS and the programm sayd that in have not enough files open in config.sys then files=120 in config.sys must be in the file but in windows Me I do'nt find the con fig.sys Where is it ?
