Hi, All.
I am trying to take Word documents and Excel documents from a Win2000 laptop to put onto another PC (WinXP). If I do it file by file then the WinXP PC can read the floppy. If I do it eight or ten at a time then the WinXP PC thinks the floppy disk needs formatting. Can anyone suggest what the Win2000 laptop is doing during the multiple file copy to the floppy?

If it is doing this with one floppy,. then is the floppy disk fault.
If is doing this with any floppy then throw away that floppy drive. Gia Betiu

Hi, thanks for that info Gia - I was thinking someone had put some sort of encription in the way when more than 1 file was being copied. This is not possible with Win2000, then?

Encryption in Windows 2000 is a different story. NTFS 5 is supporting enryption. And because you will not be able to have NTFS on a floppy you will not be able to have EFS (Encrypted File System) on floppy either.
