Hi all,
I recently tried to copy a Worksheet in Excel 97 which contain links. I saved this copied worksheet under a different file name before e-mailing it. However, when the end receiver always sees a prompt window stating 'File Not Found' when they open this file.

Is it possible for me to break all links before saving the wanted worksheet as a static form, such that the end receiver don't see the prompt window?

The window is creating much confusion.

Many thanks in advance!

Good afternoon, Sunnywink,

I take it you mean links to be formulae that pick information out of other files in order to display data or calculate with it.

If you just want to hand on the information (figures) and not the calculation, then copy the whole spreadsheet and use edit*/paste special/values to insert the data into a cleen sheet.

If you want to retain the column width etc, save the original file under a new name, highlight the whole spreadsheet, copy it onto the clipboard and then insert it onto the same spreadsheet using edit/paste special/values.

Should you want to retain some calculation, for example sums at the bottom of the table, then just highlight the cells that contain links to other files and copy and paste special.

* I think the second menu is called edit in the English version. If not, I mean the second menu. :)
