Hi all.

A coleague has a number of emails on his PC in OE6. He left the company last week and so I need to move his email folders from one PC to another.

The other PC already has a number of email folders and I want to add the first PC's email folders to this.

Am I correct in thinking that all that is required is to first make sure that there won;t be any duplicate folder names. Copy the files from the first PC to a CD. Copy into the directory on the second PC that holds the email folders and then start up OE in order for it to 'load' the folders.

Confirmation would be appreciated.

you have to use the export and import options. open outlook click FILE then goto EXPORT then MESSAGES. then export to a file. whoops, you cant do that in outlook express, only outlook. there is no easy way in oe. check this out, this should do it for you.

Move OE to one side so you can see the desktop.
Create a New folder, select all the emails to be moved, 'Drag' from the Inbox out onto the desktop(into the new folder).

Then transfer the folder. Then 'select all', and drag the emails back into the inbox (or subfolder).

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.

woooow!
Great tip!
It's realy easy and speedy way to transfer mail.. that thing with export-import or mail directory movement was always a pain in the a..

thanks
