Hi!

Does anyone know how to copy data from one storage policy to another? Copying data from one storage policy copy to another copy within the same storage policy is easy - it's called an aux copy. But what if you want to retire a storage policy and you want to move either (a) the entire contents of a storage policy (or more precisely, a copy within that policy) or (b) jobs relating to a specific client, to another storage policy?

I just can't think of a way of doing this.

Thanks! :)

Hi

This can't be done

If you want to change a SP then you would need to create a new SP and reassociate your subclients but, to browse/restore previous backups you would need to keep the old policy in place until all the retentions had been exceeded.

If it's a different retention you want then you can just create another copy with the required retention (or just change the retention on the primary and run data aging)...if it's to backup to different storage the you can just change the datapath
