Copying backed up data to DVD

Hi

I was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to copy MS SQL databases that are backed up to tape via Backup Exec onto DVDs. The client does not want to shut the databases down for a regular copy to be made but as we use the SQL plugin for Backup Exec we were hoping we could make use of that backup as it backs up whilst the DBs are still up.
