Copying a parameter into a new report

Hello all

I have often copied parameters from one report into another. Parameters that are not tied into a table.

But I find that in Version XI, I can't. It allows me to "paste" it into the new report but the parameter doesn't appear where I pasted it, nor does it appear in the Field Explorer.

I have to create the parameter from scratch in the new report.

Again, these are not a dynamic parameters. They are static.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

Regards,

Mark H. Edwards

Yep.

I tend to save the old report with the parameters to a new name, then delete everything out of it I DON'T need these days.

Sort of a generic template starting point notion...

Even more useful when they ARE dynamic parameters.

My apologies for any misunderstandings, Mark.

I certainly did not mean to imply that you aren't crazy ;)

Can't you put parameters into the REPOSITORY to re-use them...?

Wow...that's really unfortunate. I use that functionality all the time, especially with formulas. Did they cripple the use of this functionality with formulas too?
